Special Election 2013: HD-50


Every week until November 5th, UT Votes will be posting a blog entry featuring one of the candidates currently running in the special election for the Texas House of Representatives District 50 (HD-50). Since 2004, the seat has been held by Mark Strama since 2004, who recently resigned to head Google fiber in Austin.


HD-50 includes parts of Travis County and North Austin, Pflugerville, Manor, Elgin, and Webberville. For a larger map, visit the Texas Legislature Website.

162,744 people are estimated to reside in HD-50.  The Texas Legislature Website provides some breakdowns of population and election voting analysis UT Votes members and public may find interesting.
